About the Job
The Equity Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) works collaboratively with the fundamental equity portfolio management and research teams at Fort Washington Investment Advisors across the market cap spectrum to communicate the process and performance to internal and external constituencies. The CPM will build and maintain strong relationships with our institutional and intermediary distribution teams, as well as prospects and clients. The CPM will have responsibility over the aggregation, interpretation and presentation of investment processes and returns, acting as a proxy for the investment teams in client/prospect meetings. The role will be embedded with the investment team, reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Equities, and will support Large/All Cap teams in Cincinnati, OH and a Small Cap team in Albany, NY,
Responsibilities:What you will do:- Develops a deep understanding of Fort Washington's equity strategies.
- Assists the sales team in client meetings, presentations, RFP and due diligence requests.
- Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to create compelling investment marketing materials, white papers and investment insights. Provides perspective and updates (investment strategy positioning and performance context, voice, and messaging) to internal business partners and others responsible for producing and delivering content to internal and external audiences. Owns and works with marketing/client service to maintain content for equity strategies (RFPs, pitchbooks, client review materials).
- Proficiently articulates our investment philosophy, process, and performance to clients/prospects. Attends client meetings and represents the Portfolio Manager as the strategy expert and proxy. Attends prospect presentations and consultant meetings as the asset class or strategy expert (and proxy for the PM). Answers client servicing/sales-related questions, articulates investment team views and responds to performance and other investment-related issues.
- Conducts regular portfolio reviews and market updates.
- Understands and can clearly articulate investment decisions, holdings, and performance drivers.
- Assists the portfolio management teams in preparing for meetings & client engagements. Assesses industry trends and the competitive landscape for specific strategies/distribution channels, and develops defensive/offensive product positioning points to be used in marketing and business development process for institutional strategies. Leads effort to create collateral with investment team based on current market trends, portfolio positioning, investment themes being implemented or any other relevant topics.

- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field required ()
- Master's Degree MBA and/or CFA preferred ()
- Typically will have 7-10 years of experience in client portfolio management or related roles (equity portfolio manager, equity manager research or equity research) ()
- A qualified candidate will have extensive experience in investment management, either directly working as a portfolio manager or CPM, or as an institutional investment consultant/allocator. These demonstrated skills and experience will have significantly aided in AUM growth and retention of business.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. equity markets and investment products demonstrated through know of markets, portfolio theory, and strategies for keeping abreast of financial trends.
- Excellent communication, research, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Success working in a team-based, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated experience using Factset, Bloomberg, or similar systems.
- Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
- Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
- Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
- Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
- Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
