This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics of the transportation industry and kickstart your career in logistics. You will shadow and work alongside successful, tenured, sales representatives who know the job inside and out. You will also train and work directly with our Sales & Account Management team and watch how they handle every detail of moving our customer’s freight. Finally, you will get in on the action and interact with our carrier partners.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Generating, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with carrier partners to grow relationships.
• Partner with senior members of the operations team to quote rates to customers and confirm freight specifications.
• Prospect and identify decision makers at target customer companies.
• Unearth new sales opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships.
• Identify, mitigate, and resolve potential operational delays and obstacles.
• Work accurately and effectively as part of the Zengistics team to make sure our customers and carrier partners are delighted with the experience of working with us!
• Place and receive calls with customer contacts, dispatchers, dock managers, shipping coordinators, and truck drivers.
• Document communication to ensure transparent and efficient carrier operations.
• Collect important paperwork from shippers and carriers.
• Tracking and tracing shipments and deliveries of our customer’s freight.

Requirements

• An organized professional with exceptional time management skills.
• An excellent communicator with the ability to build powerful relationships.
• Technology savvy and capable of using multiple software platforms simultaneously.
• Able to communicate effectively via email and phone.
• Preferably a college graduate with a BA/BS degree.
• Commute to the office located in downtown Austin 4 days a week.
