The Opportunity - Payroll Operations Manager (Remote-Hybrid)
Tesseon, a fast-growing provider of Payroll and Human Resource services is seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Operations Manager to lead our team of Payroll Coordinators in delivering exceptional payroll and HR services to our clients. In this role, you will oversee a dedicated team that coordinates payroll and HR for our clients with a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy, while ensuring that all client inquiries are addressed within established service levels.
With your deep knowledge and extensive background in the payroll and HRIS services industry, including the iSolved HCM platform you will successfully lead a team that manages a wide range of payroll and human resource functions for our clients.

You establish clear expectations and provide the necessary support, coaching, and resources for your team to exceed their performance goals. You have a keen understanding of our clients' unique needs and enjoy tackling complex challenges with innovative solutions.

What you'll Do:
- Lead the Tesseon Client Experience team, ensuring excellence in daily operations, with a focus on consistently achieving or exceeding core KPIs, objectives and goals.
- Manage a remote team of payroll specialists who utilize a ticketing system to address and fulfill client payroll needs and expectations, fostering responsiveness and customer satisfaction
- Build and nurture a cohesive, high-performing client experience team where team members feel valued, supported, and receive effective training to meet the highest standards
- Set and maintain clear expectations for quality, accuracy, and compliance, ensuring all team members meet or exceed these standards
- Conduct performance management conversations to drive growth and development within the team
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to enhance teamwork and foster a culture of continuous improvement, aligning efforts across teams for shared success
- Oversee all hiring, termination, promotion, and performance-related decisions for the team
- Determine the appropriate org structure and resourcing needed to be successful
- Key decision maker for payroll and human resource services operational matters
- Participate with other leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives to better organize and grow the organization
- Partner cross-functionally to drive initiatives that help the broader team win
- Provides recommendations for new processes, tools, roles and responsibilities to ensure the group is organized to optimize productivity
- Ensures team documentation is up to date and the entire team is cross-trained. Creates and executes on cross-training strategies
- Onboard new team members effectively so they are knowledgeable and confident to be impactful in a short period of time
- Working cross- functionally to ensure the team has the resources, tools and support necessary to be successful
What you'll have:
- At least 5 years experience in payroll operations with significant iSolved HCM platform and/or other HRIS platform knowledge
- Experienced people manager with at least 3 years of direct management experience
- Proactive, self-starter that will drive the team's day to day activities, driving optimal productivity
- Drives all management responsibilities including coaching, goal setting, performance management, hiring, terminations
- Demonstrated success escalating appropriately, providing recommendations, driving to resolution
- Demonstrated success in implementing processes and efficiencies that best service our clients
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and across all levels within the organization
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Compensation Range: $70K - $80K plus performance bonuses.
