Essential Functions of Business Development Manager:
- Account Management: Your primary role is to develop new relationships and grow existing clients through daily revenue activities.
- Lead Generation: Identify and research potential and current customers through various channels, including networking, cold calling, and online platforms.
- Support the business teams as they target new customers for existing or potential services, generate sales leads, keep database or CRM records of contacts, create, and maintain an array of digital and print assets.
- Design, create and maintain marketing content, such as flyers, posters, presentations, emails, social media posts, website updates, and more, for Fresh Connect Central (FCC) and other entities/activities that promote specific business offerings.
- Collaborate with Gleaners marketing team regularly to ensure consistency of branding and messaging. Always maintain and uphold the organizations branding guidelines.
- Directly support business teams by identifying and executing on customer upselling and reselling opportunities.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current clients by understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
- Revenue Strategy: Work with the Chief Operating Officer and business teams to develop and implement effective revenue strategies to achieve and exceed goals.
- Presentation & Negotiation: Conduct compelling presentations and negotiate with prospective and existing customers to secure new business and revenue.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Organize, plan and manage details of on or off-site customer visits, events and conferences, including providing logistical and administrative support to team members. Attend conferences, customer visits, industry/trade partners visits, and other customer-facing events as appropriate with Operations team members to support the sales and business growth objectives.
- Organize details on business requirements related to maintain legal and or contractual compliance with new business activities. Ensure accurate and complete information is available to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
- Reprioritize tasks and assignments quickly as the needs of our operation require.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience of Business Development Manager:
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, and account management or Bachelors degree plus 2-3 years or equivalent experience
- Experience with design software, specifically Adobe Creative Suite products
- Proficient in using CRM software (Salesforce a plus), Microsoft Office Suite, and various sales tools.

Work Environment & Physical Demands of Business Development Manager:
- Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and/or carry up to 25lbs at least 1% of the time.
- Ability to physically move within the office/warehouse
- Ability to sit, stand, speak clearly, see, feel, and have manual dexterity.
- Ability to drive
- Both an office and a warehouse environment, which can be noisy
- Travel 10% -15% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
- Frequent use of computer and software systems
- Fast paced environment that is deadline orientated
- Works well with others and independently.
- Verbal face-to-face contact with others
- Flexible work schedule, including ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed.
