As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you’ll have responsibility of receiving and shipping customer orders using carrier and/or company vehicle under the supervision and direction of Management.
What you will do:
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English verbally and written.
- Process incoming customer hardware utilizing customer purchase order and completing contract review.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of customer specific packaging and delivery requirements.
- Packs customer orders using appropriate packaging materials to avoid damage during transit.
- Basic computer knowledge to create shipping label and follow freight carrier requirements.
- Enter orders using SA Menu system
- Schedules pickup with LTL freight carriers.
- Contacts customer on completed orders in a timely manner.
- Review customer on hold list to prevent orders from being shipped or delivered if found on list.
- Perform and maintain inspection logs of company vehicles; monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Operate forklift and/or manual pallet jacks.
- Ability if needed to drive company vehicle for P/U and delivery routes as required.
- Receives incoming purchases and distributes/notifies requester.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team lead.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete assigned reports as required
Position Requirements:
- Valid class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Characteristics:
- Experience with FedEx Ship Manager, UPS, and similar systems
- Well-organized with attention to detail
