POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
To improve the educational program by assisting the attendance secretary and the instructional staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The attendance clerk shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent and be competent in the duties tobe performed. The employee shall have a high level of competence in clerical skills as demonstrated by the District’sskills assessments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist with the monitoring and/or collecting of attendance.
- Assist in entering attendance in computer.
- Assist in running daily attendance summary reports.
- Assist with calling parents of students who are absent.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in written form, with parents, students, administrators, staff, and the community as needed
- Assist in checking in late arrivals and assisting with admit slips.
- Work cooperatively with the attendance secretary to maintain accurate student database.
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of the software utilized.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain the confidential nature of all school-related matters.
- Operate office machinery.
- Attend in-service workshops related to the job description to remain current.

Ability to maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Solve a variety of problems in many different situations and perform in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required. The employee will occasionally lift, carry, move, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis for 12 months, beginning with the first day of the work calendar or at the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated personal leave. Each 12 month office clerk will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employee. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate.
Eight hours (including a 30-minute non-paid lunch period) will constitute a workday for the 12 month office clerk. A definite daily schedule will be established by the principal and approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel.
The yearly salary will be disbursed in twenty-four (24) equal payments per employee’s choice.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will then be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of support staff personnel.
