Hiring Substitute Clerical Assistants for Elmwood Park School District 401

Minimum requirement:
- Clerical job: HS diploma or GED
- Have an above average command of English Grammar, Spelling and Composition.
- Have an above average command of proper business letter construction, report development, and other standard business communications.
- Be able to type 65 words per minute, with a high degree of accuracy.
- Be able to operate a variety of office equipment, including computer, memory typewriter, Microsoft Suite, copier, software, fax, etc.
- Have an above average ability to organize and manage the functions of a school office, on a day-to-day basis.
Pay: $15-18/Hour
Location: four schools in Elmwood Park, IL 60707
Job Descriptions:
- Clerical attendant and secretary: handles a variety of tasks for the administration, faculty, students, and parents of the school.
- 7-8 hour work day
- Jobs scheduled via online scheduling system
- Provides secretarial services to the Administrator, and to any other staff member as directed by the Administrator.
- Answers telephone in a business-like manner, responding appropriately to all inquiries, and takes messages as needed.
- Greets all visitors courteously; determines their needs; makes appointments or directs them to the appropriate person.
- Organizes and manages the office functions.
- Inventories all office supplies, orders supplies/materials, and processes requisitions.
- Completes all necessary forms, letters or reports in proper form and on schedule as requested by the principal or District Administrator.
- Assists in seeing that any injured person is given proper first-aid and/or medical attention.
- Brings to the attention of the Administrator, any problem or concern that relates to the office function, procedure, supplies, forms, and/or equipment, etc., in a timely fashion.
- Must consistently meet timelines.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks.
- Must have strong positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with coworkers, students, administrators, parents, and/or the community
- Guards the confidentiality of all information which may come through the office. Breach of this trust shall be grounds for dismissal.
- Performs all other duties requested by the building Principal, Directors or Superintendent of Schools.
