This group is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team in supporting a government customer. This is an AI/Client program providing cutting edge geospatial, AI capabilities at speed and scale to the warfighter. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as engage with a team to achieve overall project objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize software engineering principles, processes, and industry best practices with the ability to apply them in daily work
- Work with team lead to help decompose the work needed to implement new features or address defects within the operational software
- Complete all development work to "Done Done acceptance criteria
- Ensure proper level of unit testing is completed as part of development work
- Operate as a member of a Kanban team following Agile practices (backlog grooming, planning)
- Help drive new software capabilities to closure in a diverse ecosystem of both development and operational environments
- 100% on-site at office, no remote flexibility
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related discipline and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
- 3+ years of experience in developing Python applications
- Experience working with Python packages
- TS/SCI and CI Poly
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and modern SW best practices including disciplined source control use, code reviews, unit testing, and establishing "done done criteria for work
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of project tracking tools (BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience with Linux
- AWS and AWS SDK experience
- SOAP/REST API experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
