Clearance Officer

A leading full-service Settlement & Escrow Company is looking for a Clearance Officer to join their Commercial Team. As one of the Northeast region’s largest Title Insurance Agency handling transactions throughout the country, this is an innovative and successful company handling every kind of real estate transaction from single family residences to the most complex multi-site commercial transactions.

The Clearance Officer will be responsible for preparing files that will be reviewed and signed at settlement. You will work closely with file openers, closers, lenders, insurance underwriters, and insurance agents. A core responsibility is preventing delays through diligent fact-checking and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills and 2+ years of relevant title clearance experience.

Location: Remote!

Key Responsibilities

• The Clearance Officer will communicate with Attorneys, Banks, Developers, and Company Underwriters.
• Review of proformas and endorsements
• Review of LLC Documents, Corporation Documents, and Partnership Documents
• Review of Trusts.
• Review of Estate Documents.
• Review of preparation of affidavits.  
• Use knowledge and expertise to resolve title commitment requirements that the clearance team is not authorized to handle.
• Maintain system to ensure milestones are met in accordance with company policy.
• Address all client requests and parties associated with the transaction in a timely manner.

Desired Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Paralegal Certification is a plus!
• 2+ years of commercial title industry experience, NY, NJ, PA preferred.
• Ability to handle heavy client interaction on a regular basis and provide exemplary customer service.
• Must be extremely well organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to work efficiently, handle deadline pressures, and perform continuous follow-up to meet goals.
• Collaborate and influence outcomes through effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
