About the Job
The One-to-One Aide assists the Teacher in providing services specified in the IEP of assigned student; provides leadership and guidance to the student(s) in a supportive atmosphere. This employee supervises a specific, identified student, as indicated on the IEP; the job is dependent on the presence of that student on the school’s roster and the maintenance of that support being approved by the IEP Team. This position is classified as full-time, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 1875 hours annually.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Maintains a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education School’s administrative policies and procedures.
• Supervises and manages student behavior in the classroom, school, and school-sponsored functions.
• Provides a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom.
• Escorts assigned student to all activities, as indicated by the IEP.
• Under the direction of the Teacher, provides individualized instruction and support to an assigned student or small group of students.
• Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote progress and success with an assigned student or small group of students.
• Provides a learning environment that is individualized for students and works towards their personal level of independence.
• Assists the Teacher with completion of all necessary paperwork to accurately record student progress. This is to include daily attendance records, performance on current acquisition targets and maintenance skills, and behavioral data tracking.
• May be required to provide support to students in transport to and from school and other activities
• May be required to participate in community-based activities alongside students, such as swimming, shopping, use of public transportation, and other activities as relevant to instruction.
• Participates as an active member of the Treatment Team. Communicates all appropriate information within and without the classroom orally and in writing.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture.
• Maintains proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
• Informs the Behavior Specialist and Teacher of all relevant situations.
• Attends trainings and meetings as required.
• Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to student(s) and families served.
• Review client files on a quarterly basis to access service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of service plan.
• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, COA, and NCASES standards.

Qualifications:High School diploma or GED and at least one (1) year experience working with children and families
preferably in a school setting.
