Jacketta Sweeping Service is a local parking lot and street sweeping company and we are seeking qualified candidates for a CDL Driver for our Street Sweeping Division. WE ARE A DRUG FREE WORKPLACE WITH A PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND RANDOW TESTING.
Representative Duties
The following duties are typical for these positions. Driver/Operators may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties to address business/customer needs and changing business practices.
- Perform pre-start and periodic vehicle and safety inspections. Include written documentation and corrective measures.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments according to training. Promptly report needed repairs and adjustments outside operators training.
- Perform all duties to satisfy customer needs within our scope of work. Including but not limited to, power sweeping, hand sweeping, shoveling, hand pick up, moving obstacles, replacing traffic cones and using power blowers.
- Communicate with owners, staff, operators and customers verbally, in person, via telephone, and in written form at the frequency and interval prescribed.
- Maintain a variety of basic records and logs. Including fuel logs, time cards, job tickets and various daily, weekly and monthly check lists.
- Safely, effectively and efficiently transport and operate sweeping vehicles on assigned projects or routes. Constantly monitor speed, dust output and changing conditions.
- Clean and wash sweeper after each use. Grease, adjust, cover and shut down equipment per company guidelines.
- Call in or get next day's assignment per company procedures.
Must have:
- Personal cell phone
- Must live within 30 minutes of our yard via your own transportation.
- The ability to adapt to a constantly changing and variable schedule.
- Valid Utah Drivers License.
- Valid CDL Class B with Air Brakes with air brakes endorsement.
- At least five years operating a motor vehicle.
- Must be 21 years or more of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
Qualifications
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge of:
- The Wasatch Front freeway systems.
- Traffic laws related to the operation of Autos, Trucks, Sweepers and trailer use.
- Principals and procedures of record keeping.
- Proper use of basic hand tools used in vehicle repair.
Ability to:
- Operate a variety of construction equipment safely and productively in traffic (CDL Operator).
- Perform minor adjustments, maintenance and repairs to vehicles and equipment.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform heavy manual labor.
- Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions.
- Load, haul, collect and dispose of materials, debris and trash.
- Train others in the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Maintain daily driver sheets and check lists.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Be available to work long and variable hours.
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol test.
- Pass post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow-up drug and alcohol testing.
- Meet company driving minimums.
- Satisfy insurance company minimum driving guidelines.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. Depth perception is particularly valuable as well as not having any limitations for night vision.
