This person will build the Claims program from the ground up. You will be the point person for all claims and risk-related issues, working closely with our General Counsel, attorneys, and other associates to ensure the best possible outcomes for our company. Job Details
This person will build the Claims program from the ground up. You will be the point person for all claims and risk-related issues, working closely with our General Counsel, attorneys, and other associates to ensure the best possible outcomes for our company. This challenging role requires a high degree of responsibility, expertise, and the ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the claims process, including workers' compensation, general liability, and other types of claims.
- Work closely with adjusters, brokers, and attorneys to resolve claims efficiently and effectively.
- Oversee and manage all incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of each incident.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Lead the process improvement initiatives in the claims and risk management department, aiming to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and external parties such as attorneys, law enforcement, and insurance companies in relation to claims and risk management.
- Provide guidance and support to the General Counsel and other associates on claims and risk management issues.
- Participate in arbitration proceedings as necessary and manage litigated claims.
- Travel as required to manage claims, conduct risk assessments, and meet with external parties.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an attorney
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation, general liability, and other types of insurance claims.
- Ability/Experience to build program from the ground up
