We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic Claims Examiner to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for examining and handling a variety of complex claims. You will be the key person in charge of investigating disputes, resolving issues, and ensuring the accuracy of claims. If you have a knack for problem-solving and a strong background in claims handling, payroll, and employment, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct a thorough investigation of complex claims, including reviewing details and determining coverage, liability, and the amount of payout.
2. Analyze and interpret policy language in conjunction with specific loss facts to reach appropriate claim decisions.
3. Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely resolution of claims and disputes.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim files, documenting all activities and communications in accordance with company policies and procedures.
5. Maintain a professional relationship with claimants, ensuring all inquiries and concerns are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
7. Provide expert witness testimony in court cases when required.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in claims handling, with a focus on complex claims. Experience in payroll and employment is also required.
2. Proven ability to effectively handle and investigate disputes.
3. Strong knowledge of insurance policies, practices, and procedures.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively handle difficult situations and maintain professional relationships.
5. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
6. Proficiency in using computer software and claims management systems.
7. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field is preferred.
8. Certifications such as Claims Law Specialist (CLS) or Associate in Claims (AIC) are a plus.
