What you’ll be doing.

Job Summary: Assists in the clerical support functions for the Claims Department by performing the following duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handles incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.

• Mail distribution.

• Processes insurance payments for indemnity and expenses, including OFAC checks.

• Compiles and forwards loss runs to insured brokers/agents.

• Must become familiar with TIPS and is responsible for the accuracy of the information on all data processed through the system.

• Processes new claim forms into the TIPS system.

• Processes and distributes mail received into the TIPS system and to the floor.

• Sorts outgoing letters and attachments and send via mail or fax.

• Handles special out going UPS/ Register and Certified mail.

• Processes E-mail received from special link with Smart Corporation.

• Files claims documents/correspondence.

• Maintains storage area.

• Copies and distributes system-generated follow-ups to Claims Department personnel.

• Maintains the Custom Accounts Log.

• Upon completion of initial training, the incumbent will require only general supervision.

• The workload will be independently organized and maintained.

• Performs other clerical duties as needed or requested by Claims Supervisor/Manager or Claims Examiners.

• Handles the incoming phone calls on the Claims phone queue with acceptable customer service levels.

• Learns, understands, communicates, and explains claim types and coverages.

Where you’ll be doing it.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Pembroke Pines, FL office. As a hybrid role, you will be working onsite 2-3 days a week and working from home 2-3 days a week.

When you’ll be doing it.

While there is some flexibility in the hours, this position will be Monday-Friday during regular business hours (approximately 8:00am-5:00pm). Occasional overtime may be required according to business need.
