Position Summary

Under moderate supervision, analyzes assigned bodily injury consultations for accuracy and validates recommended settlement range on low-complexity closed claims. Reviews related medical information to ensure accurate entries into the bodily injury general damage evaluation system and makes adjustments as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes bodily injury claims consultations of low-complexity completed by field office personnel. Ensures accuracy of information and validates recommended settlement range.

Submits results of validation process to referring supervisor for follow-up with assigned claims handler.

Maintains records related to bodily injury analyses to develop information on claims handler performance. Prepares related reports as requested.

Answers questions from assigned field offices regarding bodily injury claims consultations and/or validation processes.

Assists in recommending changes to Home Office regarding current procedures and work flow for efficient and effective use of the bodily injury general damage evaluation system.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Working knowledge of Erie Insurance Claims Center (ECC) and tracking software preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Willingness to pursue the Associate in Claims (AIC) designation preferred. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel. Valid driver's license required.
