Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Representing clients in civil rights cases in California state and federal courts.
2. Conducting thorough case research and analysis to develop effective legal strategies.
3. Drafting and filing legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings.
4. Advising clients on their rights and legal options, providing clear and comprehensive counsel.
5. Engaging in negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions.
6. Participating in all aspects of trial preparation and execution.
7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in civil rights law and relevant legal precedents.
8. Collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Qualifications:
1. A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the California State Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the legal industry, with at least 3 years in a law firm setting.
4. At least 1 to 5 years of experience as an Associate Attorney, with a focus on civil rights, criminal law, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and federal litigation.
5. Proven experience handling cases in California state and federal courts.
6. Proficiency in electronic filing and familiarity with court procedures and rules.
7. Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
8. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients.
9. A strong commitment to civil rights and social justice, with a passion for making a difference in the lives of our clients.
10. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
