Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing various civil engineering projects. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management, and construction practices. The Civil Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution from conception through completion.

Duties

• Design and develop civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
• Prepare detailed project plans, specifications, and cost estimates using construction estimating techniques.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
• Utilize software tools such as Civil 3D and Revit for drafting and modeling purposes.
• Perform technical writing for project documentation, reports, and proposals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals.
• Implement GIS technology for mapping and spatial analysis in project planning.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling using HEC software as needed for water resource management projects.
• Participate in system design processes to optimize infrastructure performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Must be licensed PE in North Carolina and South Carolina.
• 5 years experience is desired.
• Proven experience in civil engineering or project engineering roles.
• Experience in private sector for builders and developers, especially both in large greenfield and infill single family detached residential developments (SFD, Townhomes).
• Experience in multifamily, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability in Conceptual Design, DD, and Construction Document preparation, Permitting, Construction Administration & Asbuilts.
• Demonstrated design skills and commanding understanding of site, grading, storm drainage, SCM stormwater management design, Erosion Control, earthwork balancing, gravity sewer and water systems. Pump Station, Forcemain, and low pressure sewer are a plus.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) with ability and eagerness to make presentation to Clients and the general public.
• Ability to lead and/or co-manage with other PMs in a team setting and in fast paced environment while meeting tight deadlines and budgets.
• Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn local ordinances and rezoning process is a must.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D 2025 & other software applications such as HydroCad, Hydraflow Hydrograph, Hydraflow Storm Sewer, HEC-RAS, WaterCad.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, GIS software, and HEC modeling tools is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
• Excellent technical writing skills for effective communication of complex information.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
