We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Permanent Civil Estimator to join our growing team in the construction industry. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their expertise in civil estimating, project planning, and cost management to a variety of exciting construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating costs for civil construction projects, analyzing data, and providing strategic project planning. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for various civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements.
2. Evaluate and analyze data such as drawings, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather detailed information about projects.
4. Participate in project planning and scheduling, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time.
5. Evaluate subcontractor proposals and assist in the selection process.
6. Review project plans and specifications to determine the total cost of a project.
7. Conduct risk analysis and provide strategic solutions to potential cost overruns.
8. Prepare and present cost reports and project updates to management and clients.
9. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure cost management strategies are implemented effectively.
10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, cost management strategies, and estimating technology.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in civil estimating or a related field in the construction industry.
2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
3. Proficient in estimating software and other related technology.
4. Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
6. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
8. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
9. Knowledge of cost control strategies and risk analysis.
10. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
12. Professional certification in estimating or project management would be an added advantage.
