Cardinal Engineerig Associates, Inc. is a growing consulting civil engineering firm located in central Connecticut celebrating its 63 rd year in business. We are seeking a Civil Engineers to join our team in Meriden, CT.. We are looking for engineers with experience in Water Resources, Transportation, Bridge Engineering, Municipal Engineering, Construction Administration and Land Surveyors.
Civil Engineer - Water Resources BSCE or MSCE and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in Water Resources related to Hydrology and Hydraulic, river hydraulics, bridge hydraulics and scour, stream channel restoration, flood studies, drainage studies, storm and sanitary sewer modeling and design, storm water management, and environmental permitting.
Certification by CTDOT as a Hydraulic Engineer and a CT P.E. license is preferred.
Experience with HECRAS, HYDROCAD, TR20, TR55, SWMM, HY8, STORMCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Bentley Micro Station is required.
The successful candidate will serve as Lead Hydraulic Engineer resource on municipal, state and federally funded infrastructure projects, responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the design. This position may also include project management, assistance with client management, mentoring junior engineers and support of Project Engineers and Project Managers.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
- 5 or more years of related civil engineering experience and
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Connecticut or the ability to obtain within one (1) year.
Demonstrated leadership experience and successful teamwork.
Exemplary communication skills, including the verbal, written, and public presentation domains. Project Management experience a plus.

Bridge Engineer, Senior Bridge Engineers, Project Managers
Responsibilities
· Perform structural design of bridge replacements, new bridges, and bridge rehabilitation
Complete structural design calculations, develop plan details/layouts using CAD, quantity take offs, specification writing and other technical report writing
· Oversee bridge inspections, including NBIS bridge inspections
· Perform load ratings on new and existing bridges
· Create and check design calculations and drawings
· Analyze and design according to current design codes, design criteria, and structural theories
· Review shop drawings and other working drawing submittals
Senior Bridge Engineers will oversee and review the work of other bridge designers .This position may also include project management, assistance with client management, mentoring junior engineers and support of Project Engineers and Project Managers, and Construction Contract Administration.
Qualifications
· BSCE in Structural Engineering required (MSCE preferred)
· 5 years minimum experience in bridge design
· PE licensure
· ConnDOT experience is desired although not mandatory
· Experience working with contractors and designing temporary structures a plus
·· Experience with modeling, analysis and design of structures using software (AutoCAD or MicroStation, Mathcad, AASHTOware BrR r or STAAD or RISA or SAP etc)
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization

Cardinal is also seeking Civil Engineers with well rounded experience in design of roadway, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, site deisgn and other municipal infrastructure projects in Connecticut. Expertise in Hydrology, Hydraulics, bridge hydraulics and bridge scour analysis is desired.
Land Surveyors: Cardinal is also seeking a Survey Party Chief with experience in topographic surveys, boundary surveys, construction stakeout, ropbotoc surveys, GPS, and CAD drafting. Civil3D experience desired.
