Civil Engineering – Engineer III - Richard Brady & Associates

Wilsey Ham is a well-established and growing 80-year-old Civil Engineering, Surveying and Construction Management firm with offices in San Mateo, Pleasant Hill and Chico, California. Our firm provides a full array of land development and public works design and survey services including street and pavement design; water, sewer and storm drain hydraulic modeling and infrastructure design; retaining wall and small structure design.

A career with us is an excellent opportunity to learn from some of the best civil engineers. We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering - Engineer III based out of our San Mateo office. This position will work under the general direction of a Project Manager or Supervising Engineer, developing skills as a project manager.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a California Registered PE candidate, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. This is a position for a seasoned designer ready to move into a position of managing designs, projects, and project engineers. This position is based in our San Mateo office and offers a potential hybrid schedule, allowing work time to be divided between the office and home upon management approval.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity can work independently with minimum supervision, has sound technical skills, is team oriented, personable, and possesses a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. This position requires a well-organized and versatile individual who is experienced in civil engineering design with some experience in project management.

Responsibilities:

• Design of projects
• Assistance with preparation of proposals and fee estimate
• Development of work plans and schedules
• Assisting in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clients
• Performing studies, calculations, designs and preparation of plans and reports in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards

Required Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering
• 7+ years of demonstrated design with some project management experience
• California PE License
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients

We offer a generous salary and benefits package that includes company paid medical and dental insurance, vacation and a 401(k) plan.
