Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for our office in Oakland, CA.
_This position is expected to begin in May/June 2025._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Oversee subsurface investigations including drilling exploration boreholes and advancing CPTs at various sites throughout Northern California
+ Review and assign geotechnical samples for laboratory testing
+ Inspect construction activities to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards
+ Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and shallow and deep foundations
+ Preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations
+ Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work
+ Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications, and construction documents
+ Assemble and document geotechnical data using software that includes Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD
+ Apply QA/QC requirements to their own work and work of the project team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus with two (2) years or more of experience.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $71,000.00 - $95,000.00.
