Description:
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and expand the Commercial Development practice within our Infrastructure Division. This leadership role presents an opportunity to drive growth within an already established civil engineering practice. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of project management experience, working with commercial clients both in Florida and nationwide. The role demands strong client interaction skills and the strategic ability to spearhead business development and marketing initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
Extensive experience working with commercial clients and a thorough understanding of permitting, scope management, and design oversight.
Responsibilities include business development, engineering oversight (including planning, permitting, and financial monitoring), and representing the company in client leadership roles.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
General Characteristics:
Makes influential decisions with a broad impact on the organization and the industry.
Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and sound judgment in guiding major projects and initiatives.
Provides leadership, fosters team collaboration, and works towards a shared project vision.
Evaluates complex engineering problems and offers viable solutions considering risks and economic analyses.
Promotes ethical standards within engineering practices.
Experience:
10+ years of professional experience in engineering.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
Licensure:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, with multi-state certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Technical Responsibilities:
Frequently provides advisory or consulting services on large-scale projects or highly specialized areas of engineering.
Develops strategies to ensure the long-term, sustainable success of complex engineering projects.
Project and Task Management:
Develops and evaluates comprehensive project management plans for large, complex projects.
Identifies risks and develops mitigation strategies.
Evaluates the effectiveness of project leaders and teams.
Management and Leadership:
Leads critically important projects and develops strategies to achieve business objectives.
Implements staff development programs, encouraging ongoing learning and professional growth.
Fosters a professional work environment and promotes the development of the team.
