Job Details:

• Position: Civil Engineer – Site Development
• Location: Columbia, SC

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and prepare plans for civil engineering projects including site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities, and stormwater management
• Evaluate and prepare reports and studies for site development projects
• Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals
• Analyze reports, maps, surveys, testing, and photographs to support design planning
• Assist with the inspection of project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Regularly interface with public agencies for permitting and project approvals
• Foster client relationships and contribute to business development efforts to secure future project opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality designs and solutions
• Provide technical advice on project modifications, design, and construction issues

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensing: PE, EIT, or Designer/CAD Tech certification
• Experience: Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software (Hydraflow, StormCAD, or similar)
• Specialized Skills: Stormwater management, including the design of detention ponds, infiltration systems, and drainage systems
• Other Requirements: Ability to obtain South Carolina PE/EIT license (if not already obtained)
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the South Carolina entitlement process
• Experience with site design for single-family residential, commercial, industrial, and multifamily projects
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, clients, and contractors
