Job Details:
- Position: Civil Engineer – Site Development
- Location: Columbia, SC
- Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare plans for civil engineering projects including site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities, and stormwater management
- Evaluate and prepare reports and studies for site development projects
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals
- Analyze reports, maps, surveys, testing, and photographs to support design planning
- Assist with the inspection of project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Regularly interface with public agencies for permitting and project approvals
- Foster client relationships and contribute to business development efforts to secure future project opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver quality designs and solutions
- Provide technical advice on project modifications, design, and construction issues
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensing: PE, EIT, or Designer/CAD Tech certification
- Experience: Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software (Hydraflow, StormCAD, or similar)
- Specialized Skills: Stormwater management, including the design of detention ponds, infiltration systems, and drainage systems
- Other Requirements: Ability to obtain South Carolina PE/EIT license (if not already obtained)
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the South Carolina entitlement process
- Experience with site design for single-family residential, commercial, industrial, and multifamily projects
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues, clients, and contractors
