Job Title: Mid-Level Civil Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Civil Engineer with 4-8 years of design experience in site/civil and land planning projects to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This role involves leading technical planning and design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and acting as a liaison for company committees and professional associations. The ideal candidate should have a PE license or be able to obtain one, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate expertise in design software.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead the planning, design, and preparation of specifications, drawings, bid packages, engineering cost estimates, calculations, studies, and reports.
- Proposal Support: Assist senior managers in preparing proposals, statements of work, and pricing.
- Mentorship: Mentor and train junior civil engineering staff.
- Quality Assurance: Review design work and engineering reports prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
- Field Investigations: Conduct field investigations and assess project site conditions.
- Representation: Serve as a liaison with agency and professional association committees.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 4-8 years of progressive site/civil project design experience; familiarity with the Baltimore-DC metro area is a plus.
- Licensing: PE license or ability to obtain.
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and MS Office; experience with WIN TR-20, WIN TR-55, and HEC-RAS is a plus.
- Project Management: Ability to meet project deadlines and manage budgets effectively.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for composing technical reports, permitting documents, and other communications.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to help expand civil practice in the region.
