We are currently searching for a talented Civil Engineer IV to join and grow with our Civil team! This will be a remote position focusing on Colorado’s Western Slope towns.
Your options as a civil engineer are endless at SEH. You’ll engineer better communities -- complete streets, safer sidewalks, more sustainable utilities, and trails and parks. Others specialize in large-scale projects, like flood control facilities, dams, landfills, harbors/marinas, structural retaining walls and larger geotechnical projects. Regardless of the project, you’ll have your hands in the mix through all phases of a project: planning, pre-design, design, contract documentation, bidding and construction. This Opportunity:
SEH, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our team, focusing on projects in the picturesque and unique environments of Colorado’s Western Slope towns. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing various types of infrastructure projects and be adept at building strong professional relationships with local government officials. This role requires a thorough understanding of the unique dynamics and challenges faced by Colorado’s Western Slope communities, ensuring that our engineering solutions meet their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster strong relationships with clients by understanding Western Colorado’s unique community challenges and confidently utilizing SEH solutions to secure new projects.
- Manage and oversee a wide variety of infrastructure projects from inception through completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen professional relationships with local government staff and officials, stakeholders, and community members in Colorado’s Western Slope towns, including Grand Junction, Montrose, Mesa County, and others in that region of the state.
- Collaborate closely with diverse teams of engineers, architects, and planners to create innovative, effective infrastructure solutions tailored to Western Slope environments.
- Facilitate communication between SEH and local government agencies to ensure transparency and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and updates to local government bodies and other stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to monitor project progress and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed on local, state, and federal regulations impacting infrastructure projects and ensure compliance in all planning and execution phases.
- Coordinate efforts closely within the Business Development team and other technical staff to foster new Western Slope clients and projects while supporting a culture of professional development within the team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the infrastructure sector, with a well-rounded focus on local government projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects in Western Slope terrains.
- Strong understanding of the political and operational structures of local government in Colorado's Western towns
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in preparing and managing budgets, schedules, and contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Preference for candidates with recent or current employment in a local government position within a Colorado mountain community.
- Proven track record of leveraging your Western Colorado network to identify and secure new projects through strategic positioning and competitive insights.
