Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technician services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team for a construction project.
-Project: Photovoltaic Plant
-Estimated duration of the position: 2years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
-Main Responsibilities:
-Design and Calculation of Infrastructure:
- Perform structural designs and calculations for foundations, solar panel bases, auxiliary buildings, and other support infrastructure.
- Size and design access roads, drainage, and leveled platforms for equipment installation.
- Ensure that the structures are resistant to environmental loads such as wind, snow, and earthquakes according to applicable regulations.
-Supervision and Control on Site:
- Supervise the execution of civil works in all phases, ensuring quality and compliance with designs.
- Inspect and control earthwork, compaction, drainage, and foundation construction.
- Verify that the materials used comply with the required technical specifications.
- Manage and solve technical problems that may arise during construction.
-Management of Contractors and Personnel:
- Coordinate the activities of contractors and subcontractors responsible for civil works.
- Ensure that activities are carried out in compliance with established schedules and budgets.
- Guarantee compliance with occupational safety and health regulations in civil works.
-Preliminary Studies and Technical Feasibility:
- Conduct topographic, geotechnical, and environmental impact studies necessary for the design and construction of the plant.
- Analyze and evaluate soil conditions to determine their suitability for installing solar panels and associated structures.
- Propose technical solutions to mitigate terrain-related risks, such as stability or drainage.
-Preparation of Technical Documentation:
- Prepare plans, technical specifications, and calculation reports for the civil elements of the project.
- Collaborate in the preparation of tender documents for civil works.
- Generate periodic reports on the progress and status of civil works.
-Coordination with Other Disciplines:
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and environmental engineers to ensure effective integration of the different areas of the project.
- Resolve interferences or conflicts between civil needs and electrical or mechanical installations.
- Participate in coordination meetings with the project team and the client.
-Regulatory and Quality Compliance:
- Ensure that design and construction comply with applicable local and international regulations.
- Supervise quality tests, such as compaction tests, material resistance, and structural stability.
- Propose improvements to optimize costs, time, and resources without compromising quality.
-Maintenance and Post-Construction Operation:
- Collaborate in the delivery of the plant, ensuring that civil works meet the established requirements.
- Perform periodic inspections to identify potential issues in the civil infrastructure and propose solutions.
-Working hours: Monday to Friday: 8 am - 5 pm (1 hour break)
-Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years experience as a Civil Engineer in Photovoltaic Plant projects or similar.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related.
