Introduction

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Civil Engineer position. This position is a direct hire opportunity, which is expected to be on-site in Orlando, FL area. We would consider all experience levels, that meet the qualifications in this job description.  

Summary

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for reporting to their Project Manager and performs many of the duties required of the position of the Project Engineer and is expected to exercise increasingly independent judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods over time.

Job Description:

• Mentoring incoming Engineering Interns.
• Offer input, ideas, and concerns that will improve the quality of our work to the Project Manager or Team Leaders.
• Inform the Project Manager of any deviation from the planned scope, schedule, or budget for an assigned task.
• Follow specified project communication procedures.
• Support, coordinate, and work closely with the design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects, from the planning stages through the development of construction documents and construction administration.
• Responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction under the supervision of the Project Manager.
• Perform modeling and calculations under supervision from senior staff.
• Responsible for performing design calculations and preparing required documentation to be included in design reports.
• Perform technical research as needed to complete a project.
• Responsible for drafting and the production of plans.
• Research and become familiar with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and development standards for the successful design and completion of a project.
• This individual should be self-motivated and collaborative with an initiative to deliver high-quality, technically sound site civil designs.

• Graduate or In-Progress student of a four-year Bachelor's degree program in engineering or higher.
• Experience levels:

1. Engineer 3: Five+ years of experience.

• Taken and passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam (preferred).
• Technical skills in mapping, design, and modeling software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Water CAD, Storm CAD, ICPR, GIS, Sketch-Up, Microsoft or related software packages).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Team oriented.
