We are seeking experienced and motivated Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our Public Works Group. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a key member of our highly qualified, collaborative, and motivated public works team.
The Position: The Civil Engineer, Project Manager is responsible for managing and directing the Public Works Department and for developing and implementing department protocols, procedures, and serving as the business and technical leader. The Director will be responsible for securing new business opportunities and clients, developing department annual revenue goals, preparing/overseeing proposals for new projects, and directing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment including the preparation of plans, reports, schedules, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management, planning, scheduling, and budget of multiple engineering projects and personnel.
- Manage project objectives by collaborating with client and company personnel, developing project proposals, and working closely with Business Development and Leadership on key performance indicators.
- Manage and organize a team of engineers by assembling, communicating with, directing, and assigning responsibilities.
- Negotiating proposals with and contracting with approved subconsultants.
- Control multiple projects simultaneously by directing and approving changes in design, specification, budget, and schedule consistent with project objectives.
- Ensure both project and department revenue goals, deadlines, and budgets are met while adhering to WLG design and engineering standards.
- Provides direction and training to fellow personnel including assignment of responsibilities and tasks.
- Administer annual performance reviews, interview, hire and train employees, address complaints, and resolve problems from clients or staff.
- Clearly understand and explain, to WLG employees or subcontractors, client engineering and design standards to ensure project deliverables meet contractual specifications.
- Approve quality of work by analyzing design, client requirements, performance standards, and provide needed feedback regarding accuracy, completeness, and value.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred.
- Ability to establish and continuously deliver a positive interactive level of customer service to the general public, development community, and City government staff.
- Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage schedules, scope of work, budgets, and project development teams to deliver quality assignments on time and within budget.
- Ability to prepare, read, and interpret engineering reports and plans; organize and coordinate the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, and estimates; prepare maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relationship of topographical contours and elevations to various types of structures and other existing pertinent objects; and perform and/or coordinate the design work of setting horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for streets and underground utility improvements.
- Ability to function independently on project management and technical matters.
- Ability to use or familiar with AutoCAD.
