Pay Rate Range: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on relevant field construction experience
Project Description:
Under supervision, assist construction staff in the management of capital project (C-48726 Line Structure Component Repairs on Broadway-7th Avenue Line (IRT) and 8th Avenue Line (IND) and Storm Water Mitigation at 81st Street on Broadway-7th Avenue Line (IRT), in the Borough of Manhattan), in MTA Construction and Development
Work Schedule:
Technical or Administrative functions:
Technical 75%, Administrative functions: 25%.
Field office: 25%, Office location: 75%.
Right-of-Way access is required.

Project Description:

Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
- Shifts may vary based on the phase of the project and the third-party Contractor's schedule.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
Technical or Administrative functions:
Technical 75%, Administrative functions: 25%.
Field office: 25%, Office location: 75%.
Right-of-Way access is required.
Work Location:
- Field Office based on project needs: 143-11 Archer Ave, Jamaica, NY-11435
- Work within any of the 5 boroughs of New York City may be required.
Education Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration and two years' experience of project management such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or
expediting, for engineering projects.
OR
b. Four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years' experience as described in "10.a” above
OR
- High school diploma or its equivalent plus any combination of college education and/or experience to make up the equivalent of SIX YEARS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE as described in "10.a” above.
o A master's degree from one of the disciplines described in #10.
o A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in project management with particular focus on Civil/Structure project will be commensurate with level of education (see above).
- Minimum of one year's supervisory experience.
- One year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project. ($1,000,000 or over)
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
- The Consultant shall obtain 30-Hour OSHA Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness Courses, as required, at no cost to MTA Construction and Development.
- Consultant must pass a one-day MTA C&D Track Safety training & prior to participating any in work capital projects.
Desired Skills/Training Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Computer applications related to design and construction management, such as MicroStation and Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD), Microsoft Office 365, ASITE, ProjectWise.
- Demonstrated familiarity of Civil/Structural Engineering standards/codes and practices.
- Familiarity with rail/transit operations and practices, and mass transit facilities, preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Description of Work:
- Monitor construction field work being performed by the contractor ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specifications, approved shop drawings, approved qualify procedures, and approved safety procedures.
- Lead and oversee construction projects, including but not limited to:
- Prepare and submit necessary field reports that documents daily activities that take place on site.
- Utilize web-based such as ASITE, ProjectWise document management protocols to maintain all project submittals and correspondence.
- Review and share correspondence with the appropriate stakeholders including but not limited to designers, sponsor groups, and operating departments.
- Develop and maintain project budgets.
- Perform site inspections that include physical activity [climb and descend ladders and staircases, working on elevated platforms and scaffold, standing for extended periods, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and working in the Subway Tunnels and Station Environments, etc.
