Job Description:
Meade Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design and construction of Tier IV data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with specific experience in the unique challenges of data center projects. This role involves working closely with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and construction teams to ensure that our data center projects meet the highest standards of reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Develop and review detailed civil engineering designs for Tier IV data centers, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet all project specifications, including redundancy, security, and uptime requirements.
- Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies to assess project viability and identify potential challenges.
- Oversee civil engineering aspects of the construction process, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise.
- Ensure all civil engineering designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental standards.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for permitting and approvals.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all civil engineering work meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and durability.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with design specifications and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the project team on all civil engineering-related matters.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in civil engineering technology and best practices, particularly as they relate to data center design and construction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Proven experience in the design and construction of Tier IV data centers is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of site development, structural engineering, and utility infrastructure.
- Proficient in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
