Civil Engineer - Selectek, Inc.

Selectek is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for a partnering company near Birmingham, Alabama. This firm focuses on residential and commercial developments, and potential candidates will be heavily involved in land and site development.

Employment Type: Temp to Perm
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Expected Pay Range: $35-$40 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday. Hybrid work options are available once candidates have completed the onboarding and orientation process. 

Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of design experience emphasizing residential developments, small-to-medium commercial sites, or institutional campus improvements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (experience will be considered in place of a degree)
- Experience with analysis, design, and construction management of land development
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
In addition to these requirements, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as Selectek is unable to provide sponsorship or work visa documentation.

Job Duties:
- Originate and review civil design work
- Create design criteria for a variety of projects
- Perform engineering studies and calculations, plus some drawings and specifications
- Assigned projects could include layout, grading, storm drainage network design, erosion control, road networks, and utility design/integration
- Perform field inspections as necessary
- Work with projects from concept through completed construction
- Apply knowledge of code requirements and regulatory practices
- Prepare technical reports
