Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in municipal, consulting, or related field
- Background in hydrology and hydraulics (open-channel flow, pipelines, flood mitigation)
- Experience with modeling, design, and construction of underground utility systems, weirs, and pumps or ability to analyze modeling results
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Revit, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam Revu
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with clients, consultants, contractors, Resort stakeholders, and management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Working knowledge of standards and codes applicable to civil utility systems
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California (Not Required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with creating and updating features in GIS (Esri ArcGIS)
- Experience with HEC-RAS, InfoWater or similar modeling software
Required Education
- BS Civil Engineering or related field
Description/Comment
- Available full time (40 hours/week)
- Review and investigate historic drawings, documentation, on-site, and internal knowledge to confirm and optimize the construction and operation of waterway systems
- Perform field work to investigate and assess utilities infrastructure and gather data
- Provide engineering and technical direction to engineering consultants to support the preparation of civil studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawings
- Review hydrologic and hydraulic engineering studies as Owner's Representative and provide recommendations for future projects
- Develop concept designs and RFPs (Request for Proposals)
- Review contract documents and calculations for lift stations, weir systems, and pipelines
- Develop equipment and construction specifications
- Attend, participate in, and problem solve during site visits from concept through construction
- Independently review calculations, drawings, and specifications and ensure that all projects are designed and executed to applicable codes and standards, with focus on constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability
- Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines
- Provide guidance and concise decision matrices to support executive decisions
- Partner with internal teams to develop, maintain, communicate, and enforce client Company design guidelines, standards, master specifications, and details
- Liaison with City officials and external agencies to ensure project scope and implementation is coordinated and compliant with external requirements
- Occasionally perform as Engineer of Record, including signing and sealing construction documents as needed
