Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Designer - Water & Wastewater candidate for our Water & Wastewater Group located in our Virginia Beach, VA office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs and construction documents.
- Actively assists the Project Manager and assigns tasks and schedules to Project Engineers and project team members, answers questions and monitors progress.
- Checks the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
- Makes major design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.
- At least three years of design/engineering experience in municipal infrastructure is required.
- Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required.
- Ability to use other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360) is preferred.
- Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.
- Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff.
