DEFINITION:
Under direction, directs, coordinates, and supervises the activities and operations of the facilities maintenance operations, including facility and grounds repair, construction, maintenance, and upkeep on City-owned buildings, such as City Hall, the Community Center, the Senior Center, the Depot, the Main Library, the Police Department, Civic Center, Senior Center, City Yard, and other City-owned buildings. Implements maintenance policies and procedures; supervises contracted services such as janitorial, floor and carpet cleaning, parking lot sweeping, and air conditioning repairs; outlines, assigns, and determines work projects; ensures safe work practices; performs other related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Civic Center Maintenance Supervisor is the supervisory class assigned to manage the daily operations of a major Facilities Maintenance Division. Positions within this class serve as supervisor for all facility related construction and maintenance projects, inspecting, evaluating, and approving completion of assignments by facility maintenance work crews.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
Receives direction from the Public Works Manager. Exercises direct and indirect supervision over assigned staff.
