About the Job
The Childbirth Educator provides formal and informal instruction for consumers of maternity care, participates in program development and evaluation; serves as a facilitator; teacher and resource person for clients attending childbirth education classes and tours. The Childbirth Educator applies the principles of growth and development when assessing and interpreting patient information, and planning and implementing individual care based on the age-related needs of the adolescent, adult, geriatric patient and their families.
Qualifications:- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education or related field preferred. Completion or certification in a course related specialty.
- 1 year related teaching experience in education.
- Active RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing OR Certification through the ICEA (International Childbirth Education Association)
