About the Job
Do you enjoy caring for children and making a positive impact on their lives? If so, we have an immediate opening for a highly skilled and motivated Child Watch Staff. Child Watch is the Y's childcare program for members and is for children ages 8 weeks to 11 years old. We are currently seeking employees who can work evening shifts at our Cleveland Y.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a group of children while adhering to program standards including safety and cleanliness
- Plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities
- Attend staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain accurate and timely records
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures
- Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred
- Previous experience working with children
- At least 18 years of age
- Previous experience with diverse populations preferred
Physical Demands:
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in various settings
- Walking, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, lifting (up to 50 pounds)
Training:
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications required within the first 30 days of employment
- New Employee Orientation required within the first week of employment
