TITLE:                                      FULL-TIME CHILD NUTRITION WORKER

QUALIFICATIONS:          

1.   Ability to lift heavy objects of at least 40 pounds,   to stand for up to 4 hours and to work in hot temperatures.

2.   No formal education is required.

3,   The ability to do work.

Performance Responsibilities

Assists in the daily operation of the kitchen by setting up tables, garbage cans etc.  Helps younger students with condiments over the lunch hour.  Cleans the eating area daily.

This position works under immediate or general supervision depending upon the level of experience.  The incumbent is responsible for one or more of the following categories on a daily basis:  set up condiment tables, set out tables, fill milk coolers, and ensure eating areas are clean after lunch.

The incumbent is challenged to assist in the lunchroom setup daily.  Also to help the students with selections or needs as they arise. 

All aspects of food service and setup performed by the incumbent, including clean up are directed and supervised by the lead cook or food service manager.  Cleaning assignments are similarly planned for the incumbent by superiors.  The incumbent may decide work sequences with which to best accomplish the directives.

Incumbent works on wet, greasy floors which may be slippery; in hot, humid, noisy kitchens with boiling hot foods and liquids which may require heavy lifting; with hot grills and ovens; and with potentially harmful chemicals such as oven cleaners or de-limers.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Performs prep work such as setting up the condiment table, fill milk coolers, pick up napkin holders from tables.
2. Cleans the tables.
3. Helps students with condiments over lunch
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
5. Serve students, staff and quests in a pleasant, efficient manner.
6. Communicate with other staff as needed.
7. Clean work area, equipment and assigned areas of responsibility to ensure proper sanitation of all food preparation, serving and storage areas.
8. These are general duties; other duties may be required on any given day as needed.
9. Regular attendance is required.

EVALUATION:  Performance can be measured by the timeliness and quality of the assigned work duties.  Performance is also measured by direct observation of work habits and the cleanliness of area assigned.
