Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Child Life Specialist Coordinator for our Hoops Family Children's Hospital. * $5,000 sign on bonus eligible as well as relocation assistance. To promote family centered care and meet the psychosocial needs of patients and families by providing education, preparation, procedural support, psychosocially supportive interventions, play therapy, and to serve as a liaison between parents and professionals of all disciplines within the facility as well as throughout the community. Assists in the administrative functions of the department and site. This may include but not limited to scheduling, interviewing, productivity tracking, tracking data, performance improvement, assisting with budgetary process and policy/procedures. Assists director of HFCH in implementing the clinical vision, mission and policy and procedures of the department. The Child Life Coordinator is responsible for providing supervisory needs for the Child Life Department as it pertains to daily operations, specifically in relation to clinical assignments and managing Child Life coverage throughout the organization. The Child Life Coordinator will also maintain clinical competency to support the needs of pediatric patients as part of the overall clinical coverage strategy. In addition to clinical care, the Child Life Coordinator is expected to monitor and manage the proficiency of the Child Life team; offering clinical expertise, guidance, staff development, and annual evaluations. In collaboration with other leaders within HFCH and CHH, the Child Life Coordinator will be involved in continuous quality improvement, customer service, resource and financial management, efficient and effective system processes and professional development. The Child Life Coordinator with work with leaders throughout the organization, both inpatient and outpatient, on a daily basis to ensure that high quality and collaborative services are provided to support the psychosocial needs of patients and families. The coordinator will make certain that child life services are consistent with the policies, procedures and standards of the department/organization and will oversee and supervise departmental activities, child life specialists as well as provide child life services to multiple areas within the hospital. The coordinator will serve as a resource to and collaborate with others to advance the department and hospital mission and vision. The Coordinator will assist with other duties as assigned.Education: * Bachelor's Degree is required * Master's Degree is preferred * Professional Child Life certification through the Child Life Council is required * Currently in or have completed a child life specialist internship Experience: * Minimum of 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience * 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred The kind of position-related experience includes: Experience working as a Child Life Specialist.
