About the Job
A health services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Child Advocate RN Supervisor to their team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Child Advocate RN Supervisor will be part of a Leadership Team, providing administrative direction and professional and medical standards/advocacy to the organization's Foster Home Program.

Responsibilities:
The Child Advocate RN Supervisor will be:
- Responsible for collaborating with the VP of Home Finding as it relates to Medically Fragile bed development from the building of referral resources, to screening intakes, to the matching process, to placement.
- Direct supervision, development and evaluation of Child Advocates.
- Approving and monitoring vacations, absences, work schedules and attendance records for program staff.
- Coordinating closely with HSVS's 29-I clinic, Case Planning, and Children's Health Homes teams, as applicable, in the provision of above services and to establish treatment goals
- Reviewing medical exam records to determine whether further treatment is recommended, including referrals and medications
- Working with Managed Care Liaison team to ensure that healthcare appointments are scheduled with providers in-network with child's Medicaid Managed Care Plan (MMCP)
- Ensuring Child Advocates complete the family medical history, proper consents (routine, mental health treatment, psychotropic medication, etc.), HIPAA authorizations, and all other required medical record documentation are entered in NextGen EHR
- Supporting in the completion of adolescent assessments, sexual/reproductive health, gender identity, sexual orientation, and family planning consultation
- Attending trainings as directed
- Engaging in ongoing review of departmental policies, procedures and practices to make recommendations for quality improvement
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree Required.
- 3 or more years case management experience in a healthcare environment and/or in the child welfare system
- Knowledge of the child welfare system and the unique complex needs of the foster care population
- Knowledge of foster care healthcare requirements
- Establish and maintain respectful professional boundaries with individuals and families
- Good understanding of medical procedures and medical terminology
- Experience documenting in Electronic Health Records (EHR), NextGen EHR experience a plus
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, and be a collaborative team player
- Up to 50% travel required including when necessary to assess youth in the Children's Center
- Great interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Medical Assistant or similar clinical background
- Experience with Connections
- Bilingual Spanish
- Drivers License
