Chief Water Plant Operator - Spotsylvania County, Virginia

Under limited supervision, performs responsible administrative, supervisory, and technical work in operating the County's water treatment plants. This includes water treatment plants owned by Spotsylvania Schools but operated by Spotsylvania Utilities. Work involves overseeing the operations of the plant, inspecting equipment and machinery, and monitoring and adjusting pumping, feed, and flow rates. Work also involves supervising, assigning, and reviewing the activities of water plant operators. Employee is also responsible for maintaining a variety of records and preparing reports. Employee must exercise independent judgment and initiative in all phases of work. Reports to the Manager, Water Treatment. 

This position is essential. Personnel occupying this position may be scheduled to work regardless of weather conditions and/or when general County offices are closed.
