Role and Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a Chief Technologist, Cytotechnology 98091 to join our team. As a Chief Technologist, you will be responsible for receiving and examining body material, fluids, exudate, and scrapings. You will assist physicians with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures and collect specimens from patients. Additionally, you will classify slides, present slides with unusual cytomorphology to the Pathologist for further examination, and maintain records of all work performed in the Cytology section. Other responsibilities include supervising Cytotechnologists, assigning workload, developing schedules, and preparing departmental records.

Candidate Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have a N.Y.S. license and a Bachelor of Science degree with ASCP Registry and/or Certified Cytology School Degree. A minimum of 3 years of experience in screening gynecological, non-gynecological specimens, and fine needle aspirations is also required. Familiarity with the Bethesda system for Cytology reporting and ThinPrep Certification is necessary.
