Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital (JDCH) is seeking a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist to lead and manage a rapidly expanding complex gastroenterology department as Chief serving a robust childrens hospital with cardiac and renal transplantation, busy neonatal and pediatric intensive care units and a large pediatric surgical team. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal and professional skills, be willing to take call, and mentor a growing team. Candidate must have leadership experience within a pediatric GI group and should have proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Incumbent will be overseeing the Complex GI Program at JDCH. Candidate should have interest in working with pediatric residents, participating in quality improvement projects and mentoring junior faculty.
Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital is one of six hospitals that are part of Memorial Healthcare System, the third largest public health system in the country. Memorial offers ample resources for academic pursuits, spanning from clinical research through to basic science investigation, via affiliations with nearby universities. The system received institutional ACGME accreditation in August 2015 and welcomed its first class of pediatric residents in 2018. The pediatric residency program is currently offering 3rd and 4th year medical students rotations in several pediatric subspecialties.
