Bryn Mawr Trust, a WSFS Company, provides locally managed and collaborative wealth management solutions, including a broad array of planning and advisory services, investment management, trust and estate planning, brokerage and investment services to individual, corporate, and institutional clients through multiple integrated businesses.
The Wealth Chief Operating Officer (COO) will assume oversight of key support functions and will work closely with business line leaders to ensure successful execution of strategies and financial results. The incumbent will lead key aspects of Wealth Management to drive higher, more efficient, and productive growth.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directly leads a team of colleagues, including: Finance, Business Transformation, Operations supporting the business lines, Tax, Custody and Retirement Services Administration.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of Wealth Management, driving systems, processes, workflow, and procedure improvements.
- Continuously assesses Wealth Management technology providers and overall technology landscape and provides recommendations in relation to improving current technology stack.
- Works closely with the Director of Wealth Risk & Compliance to support risk management and compliance activities and interacts with multiple regulatory agencies, internal audit, and bank financial auditors.
- Plans, implements, and controls an annual expense budget for the support areas.
- Works with Wealth Management leaders on integration activities and ensure consistent processes and procedures across Wealth Management.
- Continuously assesses operational and process efficiency within and across business lines, establishing best-in-class improvements to contribute to high client satisfaction and profitable growth.
- Coordinates with various WSFS Bank Departments on Bank/Wealth shared and independent initiatives. Participates in various Committees focused on: compliance and risk, financial disclosures, data governance, investment policy, and project management.
- Facilitates the development and management of a portfolio of operational improvement initiatives that drive the Wealth Division to achieve its business goals.
- Formulates, reviews, and approves policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal controls.
- Participates in key business unit meetings.
- Collaborates among Wealth Management business units and other WSFS Bank business units.
- Strategically contributes to develop long-range strategic plans to facilitate growth of the Wealth Management business.
- Works with the Director of Wealth Strategy and oversee the day-to-day project management activities within Wealth Management, driving systems, processes, and workflow, consistent with brand promise.
- Works with the Wealth Finance Director on Wealth Management’s financial planning, compensation, analysis, and reporting.
- Actively builds strong relationships with Wealth Management leaders, contributing to business strategy, growth and enabling Division leaders to focus on business/revenue building and client management activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience working in Wealth Management.
- 10+ years of general management experience.
- Undergraduate degree (B.A., B.S. or B.B.A.), required.
- MBA, CFP, CFA, etc., highly preferred.
- Must be a wealth management strategic thinker, thought leader, problem solver and team builder.
- Must have demonstrated leadership and experience as a successful member of a company’s executive leadership team.
- Must lead in a collaborative fashion that exemplifies the WSFS core values and epitomizes WSFS’ collaborative Culture.
- Must have the ability to present regularly to the Wealth executive team, WSFS senior management, and WSFS Board members.
- Must have very effective and seasoned listening, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Must be reliable and follow through on commitments.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
