SUMMARY
Responsible for implementing and directing the mission, core values and policies of Visit KC as established by the President/Chief Executive Officer and Board of Trustees. Oversees day-to-day operations, including preparing operating budgets, managing strategic plans, fostering a healthy and productive work environment, strategically directing private revenue generation, as well as general operations, and serving as a liaison and organization spokesperson at board meetings and to the wider public.
SUPERVISION
Supervise and direct all non-administrative functions of the organization, including but not limited to the departments of sales & services, marketing/communications and partnerships/events, tourism development and government & community affairs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience at the executive level and 15 years of overall related experience.
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in business, marketing, or tourism or equivalent professional industry experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs the Sales & Services, Marketing/Communications Departments & Partnerships & Events
- Leads collaborative efforts to create and maintain a shared-resource model with the Sports Commission
- Leads sales innovations and strategic business development efforts
- Manages operations and ensures that adequate funds are available to carry out vision areas
- Works with the President/CEO and CFO to conduct official business and execute legal documents
- Maintains continuous knowledge of significant developments and industry trends
- Serves on assigned Committees and Advisory Councils to ensure knowledge of activities and goals within each group
- Shares information with the board of directors to ensure it is kept up to date on activities; provides financial information and attends board meetings
- Establishes a beneficial working relationship with partnership members and industry partners to coordinate their efforts to help VKC carry out its mission and more closely align them to VKC
- Maintains a healthy work environment to attract, retain and motivate a staff of top-quality employees, and works with each individual to ensure the total functioning of the organization.
