Aon is looking for a Chief Operating Officer - Innovation. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of North American Operations.

Your Impact as Chief Operating Officer - Innovation

Operate as a member of the Innovation leadership team in collaboration with the Innovation Leader and Leadership Team in order to:

1. Develop Innovation strategy.
2. Drive the ecosystem that will deliver the next generation of services and innovation in addition to driving the current operations.
3. Ensure effective and compliant operating practice.
4. Develop and oversee Innovation’s operating strategy.
5. Develop and drive a multi-year operational strategy (covering technology, operations and D&A) that supports the overall business objectives, including achieving growth, margin, market share, quality, colleague engagement and client experience targets.
6. Design and deliver a coherent operating model across all elements of internal governance, Client Service Delivery, Business Platforms, Risk & Compliance, Procurement, technology, D&A and Growth Operations.
7. Partner with LT to facilitate direct connections/support of Aon’s client growth agenda.
8. Create an effective governance model to enable global Business Services leaders to operate across the region.
9. Partner with the People Org and LT to develop career growth strategies for Innovation colleagues through training, skillset upgrades and career development plans.
10. Ensure the measurement and delivery of operational and other performance.
11. Own and manage operational and technology costs.
12. Ensure that effective processes are embedded across the region to manage risk, maintain an effective control environment, and ensure compliance with all regulations and Corporate policies.
13. Work closely with the CFO to ensure costs are tightly managed, focusing on non-SIB items and investments.
14. Lead change management and transformation.
15. Develop and own the operational change management agenda on behalf of the LT.
16. Work with the CFO to manage investment priorities.
17. Lead change management and the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver business results.
18. Partner with LT to develop the Merger, Divestments and Acquisition agenda and lead operational integration activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

1. Passionate and entrepreneurial about leading and enabling change in a complex regulated industry.
2. Deep understanding of local context, trends and macroeconomic factors.
3. Experience working in a heavily matrixed environment, strong collaboration, relationship-building and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders across multiple solutions and geographies.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive technology and process change, experience in driving digital transformation and adapting to new environments.
5. Future focus to lay out the vision and plan to identify capacity to enable colleagues to spend more time with clients.
6. Commercial acumen to deliver return on investment, making appropriate trade-offs in the allocation of resources.
7. Proven experience managing risk.
8. Strong leadership and motivational skills; builds inclusive and diverse teams.
9. Fosters an environment in which all employees are valued and heard; motivates and inspires others, creating an environment for continuous learning and connection.
10. 10 years’ experience working in a matrixed, global organization.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred, or equivalent years of industry experience.
