Position Summary
Chief Operating Officer will support the Chief Executive Officer, the mission of MCC, and the organization, as we aim to develop and refine our organization and position ourselves for future growth in an increasingly complex Early Childhood Development environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- A demonstrated success and prior experience with government funding of non-profits and other agencies to develop, meet, review, and monitor contract goals, and to meet licensing and accreditation requirements.
- The capacity to oversee daily operations and determine position openings and closings.
- In conjunction with CEO/Executive Director manages relationships with funders and complete any applicable grant management reporting.
- Work closely with the Finance Director and other key staff and vendors to prepare for required audits.
- Ensures organization-wide compliance with health and safety laws, audits, federal and state education mandates.
- Working knowledge of facilities, both owned and leased. Prior experience managing and making efficient recommendations for repairs, remodeling, and cost-effective improvements. Bonus points for lease negotiation expertise.
- The ability to supervise professional staff in HR, Program, and Education areas and ensure that all staff members are suitably qualified as well as supported in professional development.
- Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of operations in each department to achieve current financial objectives.
- Collaborates with executives and managers to develop long-range, strategic goals for the organization.
- Organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organizations’ goals, development, and implementation efforts.

Job Requirements Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field and/or Masters of Business, Finance or Early Childhood Education.
