Microsoft's Commercial Solution Area (CSA) sets the sales strategy, leads technical sales, and operates as a hub for the Commercial Solution Areas that power the Microsoft Cloud.
We are hiring a Chief of Staff - Commercial Solutions Area - CTO to enable CSA's mission by maximizing the scale, impact, and voice of the Corporate Vice President (CVP) who serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of CSA and the broader organization. We are looking to fill the critical role of Chief of Staff (CoS).? In this role, you are self-motivated, self-directed, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Structurally, you report to the CVP and CTO for Commercial Solution Areas. You are also tightly connected with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineering teams, product marketing, HR, finance, and Microsoft global teams.?You will work closely with the CVP and Leadership Team (LT) to steer the organization and will be directly involved in shaping its future, ensuring everyone is aligned through a shared purpose and understanding of priorities.

**Responsibilities**
**?????Support the leader and be a trusted advisor**
+ Act as a strategic advisor and air-traffic-controller, optimizing the CVP's time and engagement with key stakeholders for maximum effectiveness.
+ Utilize business expertise to foster alignment and collaboration across different groups, ensuring cohesive strategies and actions.
+ Enhance quick decision-making and sustain business agility by synthesizing and applying insights gathered from various teams.
+ Influence and build trust quickly with both internal and external groups, establishing reliable and stakeholder relationships.
+ Demonstrate innovative thinking and creative problem-solving abilities, adept at tackling complex issues with out-of-the-box solutions.
+ Lead and manage projects from initial concept to execution, working across diverse teams and stepping in as needed to ensure success.
+ Support the CTO vision to develop a culture of inclusion, growth mindset, coaching and care, and thriving through change, working closely with HR to implement these values.
+ Drive special initiatives to boost the CTO team's effectiveness, using a well-informed perspective to identify opportunities and develop impactful strategic programs.
+ Drive initiatives spanning the CSA CTO leadership team including ensuring collaboration and sponsorship from the LT to ensure the highest priority initiatives get the greatest focus and execute with alignment.
**Business management and rhythm of the business (ROB)**
+ Manage and facilitate the ROB for the LT, including staff meetings, offsites, and other key rhythms (e.g., customer and partner meetings, Town Halls, Quarterly Business Reports, and Monthly Business Reports), ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved. Look around corners.
+ ???Collaborate with peer CoS offices within Microsoft to align business strategies and monitor/align progress on key priorities.
+ Be an active leadership team member and understand strategic planning, business management, financial & operations, people/talent rhythms, and communications functions.
**Customer/partner engagement**
+ Shape CTO customer and partner engagement model to maximize the associated impact and ROI including country/region visits and strategic events. Define ROI framework by implementing a high-quality sponsorship model for strategic accounts to assess the value of engagement model through the lens of continuous improvement.
+ Create opportunities for the extended leadership team and broader team to learn directly from our customers and partners through various channels including listening systems, focus groups, and employee or partner survey results (feedback, findings, and actions). Enable the LT to use data to inform customer strategies across the organization.
**Communications**
+ Develop and implement a communication strategy for various internal and external audiences, ensuring the CVP's message remains clear, consistent, and impactful in all settings. ??? Provide high-quality preparation for engagements, both internally and externally with clean, thought-forward concepts delivered in a simple-to-understand approach. Assist the leadership team in establishing a regular communication flow within the organization, integrating effective messaging through various channels like SharePoint, town halls, ask-me-anything (AMA) sessions, newsletters, and social media. Your goal is to keep the team and key partners well-informed and aligned with the company's priorities and objectives.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
+ OR equivalent experience.
**Preferred Qualification**
+ 5+ years of experience in a role as a software engineer, solution architect, pre-sales or other similar roles as a technologist.
+ Over 10 years of multidisciplinary leadership experience in fast-paced, large-scale environments, driving organizational success in technical, business, sales, marketing, and partnership areas.
+ Experience with behavioral modeling and organizational coaching.
+ Experience working in a high-pressure in dynamic settings, showcasing resilience and grace.
+ Experience in strategic planning and implementation, adept at simplifying complex issues into actionable and compelling recommendations.
+ Proficient in data-driven decision-making, effectively balancing quantitative and qualitative insights to highlight options and trade-offs.
+ Exceptional collaborator with a proven track record of leveraging a broad network to achieve results, deeply committed to inclusion and innovative problem-solving through diverse perspectives.
+ Leader in people management, capable of attracting, developing, and motivating a high-caliber, global team.
+ Skilled multitasker with excellent project management abilities, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects and stakeholder engagements simultaneously.

Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
