Position Title: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
Job Location: Multi-Facility (Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, Vernon, TX)
Job Summary:
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest standards of nursing care across multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This position requires frequent travel between the facilities in Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, and Vernon, TX. The CNO will work collaboratively with facility Administrators and Directors of Nursing to implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve patient outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Ø Provide strategic direction and leadership to the nursing departments across all facilities.
Ø Foster a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional development.
Ø Mentor and support Directors of Nursing and nursing staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
Quality and Compliance:
Ø Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
Ø Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Ø Monitor and analyze nursing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Policy and Procedure Development:
Ø Develop, implement, and update nursing policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed.
Ø Standardize nursing practices across all facilities to ensure consistency and quality of care.
Staffing and Recruitment:
Ø Oversee nursing staffing levels and work with Human Resources to recruit and retain qualified nursing staff.
Ø Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet patient care needs while managing labor costs.
Budget Management:
Ø Develop and manage the nursing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Ø Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality of care.
Patient Care:
Ø Ensure that all patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.
Ø Address patient and family concerns promptly and effectively.
Travel Requirements:
Ø Travel frequently between Austin, McGregor, Arlington, Lindale, and Vernon to provide on-site leadership and support.
Qualifications:
Education:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred.
Ø Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
Experience:
Ø Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
Ø Demonstrated experience in multi-facility management preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Ø Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ø Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ø Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities.
Ø Ability to travel frequently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
Work Environment:
The CNO will primarily work in various skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across the designated cities in Texas. Travel is a significant component of this role, requiring flexibility and the ability to adapt to different facility environments.
