We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and dedicated Chief Mechanical Estimator to join our thriving team in the construction industry. As a Chief Mechanical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's growth and success by leading the estimation process for all mechanical construction projects. With your expertise in budgeting and mechanical systems, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates that drive the financial success of our projects. Responsibilities:
1. Lead the estimation process for all mechanical construction projects, from initial design to final cost analysis.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather all necessary data for cost estimation.
3. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
4. Develop and maintain a cost database for all mechanical systems, materials, and labor costs.
5. Provide detailed reports to project managers and clients, explaining the cost breakdown and any potential cost-saving opportunities.
6. Monitor industry trends and advancements in technology to ensure our cost estimates are accurate and competitive.
7. Review all final cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
8. Participate in bid defense meetings with clients and stakeholders.
9. Work closely with the procurement team to negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in mechanical estimation in the construction industry. Multifamily experience preferred
3. Proficient in budgeting and cost estimation techniques.
4. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
6. Proficient in estimation software and tools.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
11. Professional certification in mechanical estimation or a related field is a plus.
