We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chief Mechanic to join our team in the dairy manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and automation technology in our dairy production facilities. This position is critical to our operations and requires a highly skilled individual who can ensure the smooth and efficient running of our production lines. Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all dairy manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to pneumatic systems, boilers, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
2. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing the CMMS system.
3. Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to maintain and repair equipment.
4. Lead and mentor a team of mechanics, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance.
5. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
6. Implement and maintain safety standards and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Keep abreast of new technology and trends in the manufacturing industry, making recommendations for upgrades and improvements as appropriate.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proven expertise in electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, boilers, PLC troubleshooting, HMI troubleshooting, automation, schematics, VFD, and CMMS.
3. Strong understanding of electrical controls and systems.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
5. Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
9. Relevant certifications and qualifications in mechanics, electrical engineering, or a related field would be advantageous.
10. A commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
